One of the big decisions I have made this year 2019 is the decision of being authentic.
I am applying this concept in a personal level and professional level. As a marketer, you have to proof and show the best of a brand, a product, a place, a business, entity etc.
For starters, I took the personal decision to like, love, and nurture myself. That doesn’t mean that I’d be an open book, it means that if I need to step back, I can step back when necessary, if I want to keep something to myself and not tell the world, I can do that as well. it’s growing and establishing healthy boundaries. Now it’s the time to look and change the perspectives from mistakes, as wrong doings to learned lessons.
In marketing occurs something similar, you want to show and promote a business, and show the world why the should choose yours instead of others. It is then when authenticity comes into place. I decided in some point that I’m only would work in places that aligned with my values, and I wouldn’t promote something I wouldn’t believe in or I wouldn’t identify with. You want to put in you different marketing channels who you are, yet you can use bots and automatización to assist you and work smoothly. It’s then where the voice of a brand, with humans and real people, makes or breaks it, it’s what makes it genuine.
